TRT World Forum 2023: Keeping The Pulse of the Global Agenda
The TRT World Forum 2023 took place in Istanbul under the theme of “Developing Together: Responsibilities, Actions and Solutions” and garnered significant attention in the global press. The event brought together policymakers, journalists, academics, experts, and public and private sector representatives from across the world to discuss pressing regional and global issues.
With 10 open sessions and 8 round table meetings, the forum provided a platform for in-depth discussions, solution proposals, and the strengthening of mutual understanding. Over 150 internationally renowned high-level speakers addressed critical global issues, including global cooperation, leadership, peace diplomacy, food security, energy crisis, climate change, migration, Islamophobia, media and digitalization, and disinformation.
The forum commenced with a special session titled “Turkish Century Vision: Turkey as a System Establishing Actor”, highlighting the values and significance of Turkey’s struggle as the country marks its 100th anniversary. Among the open session topics were “Israel’s Gaza War: Humanitarian Crisis and Prospects for Peace”, “The Return of Geopolitics: Rivalries and Re-alliances in the New Century”, “Reshaping the Global Economy”, “Savvy Artificial Intelligence: Creative Potential or Destructive Calamity?”, and “Empowering Humanity: Addressing Social Crises and Inequalities”.
High-profile figures, including former Prime Ministers, Ministers, and Directors of international organizations, participated as speakers, emphasizing the importance and influence of the TRT World Forum 2023. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, and TRT General Manager Mehmet Zahid Sobacı opened the event, which also featured a special screening presentation and gifts symbolizing Turkey’s peace efforts and its 100th-year anniversary.
