Trump Defends Himself in Court: “I Did Nothing Wrong in Serving My Country”

Former US President Donald Trump has once again spoken out against the judicial processes brought against him, claiming that as president, he should have immunity from prosecution.
After not speaking in court, Trump addressed the media from the hotel where he was staying, describing the legal proceedings as “political” and accusing the Biden administration of trying to prevent him from participating in the 2024 elections.
Trump firmly stated, “As a president, you should have immunity from prosecution. I did nothing wrong, there was nothing wrong in working on behalf of my country.” He also referenced the investigation into the business relations of Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and threatened to pursue legal action if Biden does not become president.
Highlighting the US withdrawal process from Afghanistan and the crises at the southern border, Trump claimed that Biden should be held accountable for these actions if he were not in office, reinforcing his belief that immunity from prosecution should be a prerequisite for holding the presidential office.
Having previously taken his claim for immunity from jurisdiction to the district court and receiving a rejection response, Trump has now escalated the matter to the appeals court in hopes of securing immunity from prosecution.
Scheduled to appear before a judge in March for a federal lawsuit surrounding the 2020 election results, it is clear that Trump remains steadfast in his battle for immunity from judicial processes, reinforcing his belief that as a president, he should be shielded from prosecution.
