TULM Facilitates Container Rail Transport in CASCA+ Multimodal Corridor Orient

The newly established CASCA+ multimodal transport corridor is changing the game in cargo transportation along the route China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey – European countries. Offering competitive and attractive tariffs, this corridor is revolutionizing the way goods are moved between these countries.

At the heart of this transport corridor is the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM), which is responsible for ensuring the smooth transportation of goods and coordinating logistics processes along the route. In February 2025, TULM made a significant milestone by successfully transporting ores and concentrates in 180 twenty-foot containers from Sergeli station to the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi. From there, the cargo was shipped to European countries via feeder vessels.

In a demonstration of the efficiency of the CASCA+ corridor in the reverse direction, five railway convoys were sent from the ports of Poti and Batumi to the Republic of Uzbekistan. TULM played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transfer of these convoys to Azerbaijani vessels, which then transported the goods to the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi. Subsequently, the cargo was reloaded onto railcars for further dispatch to various stations in Uzbekistan.

With the successful transportation of goods along the CASCA+ corridor, it is evident that this multimodal transport and transit project is set to revolutionize the way cargo is moved between the participating countries. The integration of rail, sea, and road transport modes under CASCA+ is not only making transportation more efficient but also opening up new avenues for trade and economic growth in the region.
