In a remarkable display of dedication to promoting physical activity and mobility, the Sports Federation for All in Istanbul organized the creation of the “World’s Longest Bicycle Line.” This event, which took place at the Beykoz Sports Forest, involved 1653 bicycles and successfully secured a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
The ceremony, attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, Beykoz Mayor Murat Aydın, and Sports for All Federation President Kerim Çomoğlu, marked a significant milestone in the 2024 Mobility Year Activities initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Minister Bak expressed enthusiasm for declaring 2024 as the year of mobility, envisioning Istanbul as a future “bicycle city.”
“We invite everyone to move, walk, cycle, and engage in sports activities,” Minister Bak proclaimed during the ceremony. Emphasizing the importance of physical activity in combating addiction and promoting a healthy lifestyle, he urged families to take advantage of the city’s sports facilities.
“We welcome everyone to the sports facilities to combat addiction and keep our youth away from bad habits,” Minister Bak stated. With a focus on transforming Istanbul into a vibrant sports city, he called for community participation in the ongoing efforts to promote a culture of health and wellness.
