Turkey’s Population Determined in Last-Minute Count

Turkey’s Population Increases by Nearly 300 Thousand in 2024
According to the latest data released on December 31, 2024, Turkey’s population has grown by 292,567 people compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 85,664,944 individuals. Of this population, 42,853,110 are men and 42,811,834 are women, making up 50.02% and 49.98% of the total population, respectively.
Interestingly, while 10 provinces in Turkey saw a decrease in population in 2023, the number increased to 40 provinces in 2024. This fluctuation in population growth highlights the changing demographics and migration patterns within the country.
As Turkey continues to see population growth and shifts in various regions, it will be important for policymakers and planners to consider the implications for infrastructure, services, and resources to ensure sustainable development for all residents.
