Turkish Airlines has announced plans to increase the number of flights on the Ashgabat – Istanbul route to 17 per week in response to a growing interest among Turkmen citizens in traveling to Turkiye. The Ambassador of Turkiye to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok, revealed this decision, highlighting the airline’s role in enhancing tourism and transport accessibility between the two nations.

Since April 1, 2025, the number of weekly flights had already been raised from 11 to 14. The subsequent increase to 17 flights per week is scheduled to take effect on June 10, 2025, further facilitating travel and tourism opportunities for passengers.

Ambassador Demirok also lauded Turkish Airlines for its significant contributions to global tourism, serving 353 destinations in 131 countries worldwide. With its extensive network, the airline offers travelers access to some of the most sought-after locations around the globe.

In addition to Turkish Airlines, Turkmenistan Airlines currently operates flights on the Ashgabat – Istanbul route, providing 10 flights per week to meet the demand for travel between the two countries.

The increase in flight frequency on this popular route reflects the commitment of both airlines to meeting the growing demand for air travel and strengthening the bonds between Turkmenistan and Turkiye.
