Turkish Cypriot Cultural Association Honors Fazıl Küçük and Rauf R. Denktaş
The Turkish Cypriot Cultural Association recently commemorated the 41st anniversary of the death of Fazıl Küçük and the 13th anniversary of the death of Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş. In a message released by the association, they paid tribute to the patriotic and fearless Turkish Cypriot people who have been steadfast in their struggle for freedom, independence, sovereignty, and existence.
The message highlighted the extraordinary war of existence that the Turkish Cypriot people faced in 1974, when they resisted terrorist acts and ethnic cleansing attacks initiated by the Greek-Greek side. Despite these challenges, they emerged victorious with the Turkish Cypriot Peace Operation and established the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Dr. Fazıl Küçük and Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş were praised for laying the unshakable foundations of the Turkish Cypriot people’s fight for existence, independence, and freedom. Today, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus stands strong, ensuring sovereignty, independence, freedom, and security for its people.
The association emphasized that Turkey’s effective and de facto guarantor right is crucial in maintaining the sovereignty and existence of the Turkish people in Cyprus. They stressed the importance of honoring the alliance agreements that support the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey’s guarantee.
As the Turkish Cypriot people continue their struggle for existence, sovereignty, and freedom, they remain united in their determination to preserve their rights and secure their future. The legacy of Fazıl Küçük and Rauf R. Denktaş continues to inspire them in their quest for a prosperous and secure future.
