Ministers from Turkic States Meet in Istanbul to Discuss Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation
Ministers from various Turkic states recently gathered in Istanbul for the Meeting of Ministers of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Organization of Turkic States. The meeting brought together key figures including Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy, Mikayıl Cabbarov, Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Trade, Daniyar Amangeldiev, and Minister of Economy and Energy from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Olgun Amcaoğlu. During the meeting, they held productive discussions with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kubanıçbek Ömuraliyev.
One of the main objectives of the meeting was to establish 12 new working groups focusing on important issues such as R&D projects, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. Minister Kacır emphasized that the collaboration between these countries would mark a new beginning for the Turkish world.
The discussions at the meeting also revolved around funding joint R&D projects, scientific research scholarships, and exchange programs, the development of artificial intelligence and digital transformation initiatives, and the organization of events like the Aviation, Space, and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST) in member observer countries. Additionally, the establishment of joint ventures, prioritizing investment funds and entrepreneurship, and sharing knowledge and experience in various industrial sectors were also key topics of discussion.
Minister Kacır took to social media to express his optimism about the outcomes of the meeting. He highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation among Turkic states and implementing concrete projects in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and industry. He also underscored the strong unity of member countries within the Organization of Turkic States as a catalyst for future collaborations.
