Turkish Intelligence Operation in Sulaymaniyah: Hüsnü Kümek Neutralized

A PKK member responsible for a variety of covert activities has been neutralized in Suleymaniye, Iraq. Hüsnü Kümek, known as the courier and bodyguard of PKK Executive Council Co-Chairman Cemil Bayık and Executive Council Member Duran Kalkan, was identified by Turkish intelligence agency MIT and taken out in a targeted operation.
Kümek, who operated within the NLP, an intelligence formation of the PKK, was in charge of organizing training activities for supporters of the organization in Sulaymaniyah and Kelar. He also shared valuable intelligence with senior PKK leaders and coordinated anti-Turkey efforts in the region.
Thanks to the efforts of field agents in Suleymaniye, MIT was able to locate Kümek’s whereabouts and launch a successful operation to neutralize him. The operation, which was carried out under favorable conditions, resulted in the elimination of the KCK-NLP member.
This development marks a significant blow to the PKK’s activities and networks in the region, highlighting the effectiveness of intelligence and security operations in countering terrorism.
