Turkmen Delegation Visits Hospitals in Germany to Learn About Digital Healthcare
A delegation from Turkmenistan recently visited several hospitals and clinics in Germany to learn about digital systems, information security, artificial intelligence, and computer software in the healthcare sector. The visit was part of an effort to gather knowledge and expertise for the establishment of an analytical and intellectual department at the newly built International Oncology Scientific and Clinical Center in Ashgabat.
Led by representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the “Turkmenaragatnashyk” agency, and the University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan named after Oguz Han, the group visited prominent healthcare facilities in Germany from February 3 to 15, 2025. Among the institutions they visited were Freiburg University Hospital, RWTH Aachen University Clinic, Heidelberg University Hospital, Göttingen Hospital, Grosshadern Clinic of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Augsburg University Hospital, and Fürstenfeldbruck Hospital.
During their visits, the Turkmen delegation met with medical staff, IT departments, and experts in digital medicine to discuss the digitization of hospital work, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, and the organization of IT departments. The goal of the visit was to gain valuable insights and experiences that could be applied to the development of modern and efficient healthcare systems in Turkmenistan.
The initiative to explore digital healthcare trends and technologies in Germany reflects Turkmenistan’s commitment to advancing its healthcare infrastructure and services.
