Turkmenistan to Celebrate Day of the Turkmen Horse with Festive Exhibition
On Sunday, April 27, Turkmenistan will be filled with celebrations as the country commemorates the Day of the Turkmen Horse, honoring one of its most cherished national treasures. The Akhal-Teke horse, which is prominently featured in the state symbols of Turkmenistan, has long been a source of pride for the nation. To mark this special occasion, the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan has organized a grand exhibition titled “High Honors to the Horse”.
The exhibition showcases a stunning array of artwork, including paintings by renowned artists that capture the elegance and beauty of Turkmen horses. In addition to paintings, the exhibition features intricate silver jewelry that adorns Akhal-Teke horses, as well as sculptured figures and woven carpet images that pay tribute to these majestic creatures.
Visitors to the exhibition will also have the opportunity to admire a collection of horse accessories and decorations, including saddles, stirrups, whips, bridles, and more. Each piece on display reflects the deep admiration and love that the Turkmen people have for their beloved horses.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Jahan Nazarova, a senior researcher at the Museum of the President of Turkmenistan, who highlighted the unique characteristics and historical significance of Akhal-Teke horses. Other speakers at the event included experts in equestrian studies, who shared their knowledge about the ancient history and global renown of Turkmen horses.
As Turkmenistan prepares to honor the Day of the Turkmen Horse, the exhibition serves as a reminder of the country’s rich cultural heritage and its longstanding connection to these majestic animals.
