Turkmen Leader Meets with Armenian President
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently met with the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, on October 10, 2024. The meeting took place in Turkmenistan as part of an international forum celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker, Magtymguly Fragi.
During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the longstanding and successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia in various important areas. They also discussed the positive dynamics of the Turkmen-Armenian relations and the mutual support provided within international organizations.
A significant focus of the discussion was the enhancement of economic partnership between the two countries. Both Turkmenistan and Armenia have identified great potential for expanding trade, energy, transport, and communication cooperation, as well as exploring opportunities in other promising sectors.
In addition to economic cooperation, the leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening traditional political, economic, and cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Armenia.
Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vahagn Khachaturyan exchanged warm wishes for each other and for the friendly peoples of both countries, showcasing the continued friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia.
