Turkmen Medical Centers Win German Design Award 2025 in Architecture Orient_Category
Two new medical centers in Ashgabat, the International Health and Rehabilitation Center and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, have been honored with the prestigious German Design Award 2025. These awards were presented by the German Design Council "Rat für Formgebung" for their outstanding architectural and design solutions.
The grand opening of these facilities occurred last October on the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan. During the inauguration, the centers also received several international certificates for their advanced technologies in construction and medical equipment.
Constructed by the Turkish company "GAP Inşaat," these centers stood out in the "Architecture" category of the annual competition organized by the German Design Council with the support of the German Federal Government in Frankfurt.
The International Health and Rehabilitation Center, designed to accommodate 400 patients, is Central Asia’s only institution specializing in the rehabilitation of individuals after injuries and illnesses. With over 20 departments for both adults and children, the center is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia rehabilitation tools and offers a personalized approach to each patient, blending cutting-edge technologies with traditional medical practices.
On the other hand, the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, with 250 beds, focuses on researching the healing properties of medicinal plants, allergology, immunology, proper nutrition, physical activity, as well as sports and labor physiology. This center conducts clinical, educational, scientific, and laboratory work in these areas and possesses modern equipment to support respiratory and circulatory functions. Additionally, it serves as a training ground for aspiring doctors and implements treatment methods that adhere to international standards, thereby shortening patient rehabilitation periods.
The commissioning of these state-of-the-art medical facilities, recognized internationally for their excellence, underscores Turkmenistan’s commitment to enhancing its healthcare system, improving the quality of medical services, generating new employment opportunities, and enhancing the working conditions for healthcare professionals.
