Turkmen Citizens Flock to Turkey for Tourism in 2024
In 2024, a staggering 153,688 citizens of Turkmenistan traveled to Turkey for tourism purposes, marking a substantial 27% increase from the previous year. This information was shared by the Ambassador of Turkiye to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok, during an event commemorating Turkey’s Tourism Week.
Ambassador Demirok highlighted Turkiye’s growing prominence in the global tourism landscape, with the country welcoming over 62 million tourists in 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, Turkey is aiming to break new records, with a projected 65 million tourists expected to contribute to a tourism revenue of 64 billion US dollars.
The Ambassador attributed Turkiye’s enduring appeal to its temperate climate, picturesque landscapes, rich historical heritage, and a culture that serves as a meeting point between the East and the West. He emphasized that Turkey remains one of the top destinations for travelers from around the world.
Furthermore, Ambassador Demirok mentioned the diverse range of tourist activities available throughout all regions of Turkey, catering to every preference and interest regardless of the time of year.
With these impressive statistics and optimistic projections, it is clear that Turkey continues to solidify its position as a leading tourism destination globally, attracting visitors from Turkmenistan and beyond.
