Turkmen University Teachers Visit Slovakia for ERASMUS+ Project Orient
A group of specialists from Turkmenistan recently visited Bratislava, Slovakia as part of the Erasmus+ project “Strengthening Higher Education Capacity – Integrating Environment, Societal Needs, and Good Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia” (ESGCA). The purpose of the visit was to participate in short-term trainings on developing a master’s program covering ecosystem and societal challenges, as well as good governance issues.
The participants, including teachers from the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, attended seminars at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STUBA). The focus of the seminar was on the practical applications of ESG in sustainable industry, higher education, and water management.
This project involves leading universities from Italy, Romania, Slovakia, and several Central Asian countries. The visit to Bratislava followed a seminar held in Sibiu, Romania, where participants learned about advanced teaching methods, innovative educational program approaches, and global trends in ecology and management.
During their visit, the group also toured the Slovnaft oil refinery complex in Bratislava, Slovakia. The plant, part of the MOL group of companies, implements “green production” concepts to reduce environmental impact. This information is crucial for educational institutions training future specialists in ecology and sustainable development.
The ESGCA project aims to influence higher education in Central Asia, preparing the next generation of specialists to tackle global environmental and social challenges. The collaboration between institutions in different countries ensures a holistic approach to education and fosters innovation in addressing pressing issues.
Overall, the working visit to Bratislava was a valuable opportunity for the Turkmenistan specialists to exchange knowledge and experiences with international partners, contributing to the enhancement of higher education capacity in Central Asia.
