Turkmenistan and EU Orient Collaboration Discussed by Berdimuhamedov and Costa
Turkmenistan President Meets with European Council President at Central Asia-EU Summit
Today, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, had a meeting with the President of the European Council, António Costa, during his working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in the first Central Asia-European Union Summit.
During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance that Turkmenistan places on cooperation with the EU in various spheres including political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and transport-communication. He expressed his confidence that this meeting will further enhance the multilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
The interaction between Turkmenistan and the EU in the political-diplomatic system has been noted to be active in recent years, with a prominent example being the partnership in the Central Asia-European Union format.
President Costa acknowledged the significance of the recent meeting of the heads of foreign ministries of Central Asian countries and the European Union in Ashgabat. He expressed his confidence that such high-level events will pave the way for the establishment of a multifaceted and long-term partnership between the two regions on a regular basis.
The discussions between the two leaders are expected to strengthen the ties between Turkmenistan and the European Union and enhance cooperation in various areas for the mutual benefit of both parties.
