
Turkmenistan Delegation joins Central Asia-GCC Dialogue Orient Ministerial Meeting

The delegation of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov, recently visited Kuwait to participate in the third ministerial meeting of the Central Asia-GCC Strategic Dialogue (CA-GCC). Held in Kuwait City on April 15-16, the forum was attended by foreign ministry heads from Central Asian countries and six Gulf Cooperation Council member countries.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening partnerships in various areas and expanding mutually beneficial relationships. Emphasis was placed on developing specific recommendations to enhance cooperation in trade, economy, investment, transportation, culture, environment, and tourism. Participants expressed a commitment to enhancing multilateral interaction mechanisms and strengthening ties between the Central Asian and Gulf States.
The Turkmen delegation highlighted current issues and initiatives to boost cooperation in transport, logistics, energy, economy, and humanitarian affairs. Additionally, Deputy Foreign Minister Gurbanov met with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, as well as the heads of the Bahrain and Oman delegations.
Discussions also touched on the implementation of the Ashgabat Agreement, an international transport and transit corridor established between the governments of Iran, Oman, Qatar, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The Turkmen Foreign Ministry issued a press release detailing the meeting outcomes, emphasizing the commitment to further collaboration among the participating nations in the strategic dialogue.
