
Turkmenistan Participates in UTC Orient Coordination Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Organization of Turkic States (UTC) took place on March 12, 2025, in Istanbul. The event, held at the Secretariat building of the UTC, was attended by Ambassador M. Ishangulyev from Turkmenistan.
Deputy heads of foreign policy departments from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, along with the Ambassador of Hungary to Turkey, secretaries general of the UTC, TURKSOY, and TURKPA, heads of the Turkic Academy, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, and the Turkic Investment Fund were also present.
During the meeting, discussions centered around implementing decisions from the 11th UTC Summit, collaborative activities within the organization, and the 2025 Action Plan. Reports on activities in 2024 were presented by heads of affiliated international organizations of the UTC.
The Turkmenistan delegation emphasized the importance of peace and trust in their speech. They highlighted Turkmenistan’s efforts in promoting dialogue, international cooperation, and sustainable peace, especially as the nation celebrates the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality in 2025.
The delegation also brought attention to the UN General Assembly’s adoption of a Resolution declaring 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, thanks to Turkmenistan’s initiative. This further emphasized Turkmenistan’s foreign policy objectives focused on strengthening global peace and trust.
Overall, the meeting served as a platform for discussing key initiatives and strategies aimed at fostering unity and cooperation among Turkic states in promoting peace and trust on a global scale.
