Turkmenistan Strengthens Economic Ties with Italy, Belarus, Austria, and Guatemala

Last week, Turkmenistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) hosted a series of significant meetings with representatives from Italy, Belarus, Austria, and Guatemala to discuss the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, joint projects, and investment opportunities.

One of the key discussions took place with Leandro Scalco, designer of the Italian company “Modenese Gastone Interiors Srl,” focusing on international exhibitions at the TCCI and collaboration in carpet weaving, textiles, and furniture design. The Italian company expressed interest in participating in these exhibitions to enhance economic relations between the two countries.

Another meeting with the Ambassador of Belarus to Turkmenistan, Stanislav Chepurny, highlighted proposals to boost mutual trade, increase production capacities, and explore new areas of cooperation. Belarusian entrepreneurs showed keen interest in collaboration in agriculture, automotive, food industries, and other manufacturing sectors.

Additionally, Gerhard Sailler, Deputy Director General for Political Affairs of the Republic of Austria, discussed trade and economic cooperation with Turkmenistan and potential joint projects. He emphasized Austria’s interest in expanding economic ties and the importance of organizing joint exhibitions and business forums. The 13th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian group is planned for this year to strengthen business relations.

Furthermore, the new Ambassador of Guatemala, Eduardo Enrique Hernandez Recinos, underlined the beginning of a new phase of diplomatic activity between Guatemala and Turkmenistan. He expressed interest in the Turkmen economy and advocated for direct contact between entrepreneurs through participation in exhibitions.

The TCCI Chairman highlighted Turkmenistan’s export opportunities in oil and gas, textiles, and agricultural products, while also discussing the development of logistics routes and trade relations between the countries.

These meetings reflect Turkmenistan’s efforts to deepen economic ties with Italy, Belarus, Austria, and Guatemala, paving the way for enhanced cooperation and mutual benefits.
