This grouping follows the recent conclusion of worldwide tournaments in lower divisions, which has brought together both familiar adversaries and new challengers.
Turkmenistan’s competitors will include teams they have faced before: Turkey, South Africa, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, the group will welcome two new members: Mexico, which has moved up from Group B of Division III, and Thailand, which comes down from Group B of Division II.
While the specific venue for the tournament has yet to be confirmed, preparations are already in full swing. The Turkmen team is eager to enhance its performance and aim for promotion to a higher division, showcasing their development in the sport.
In a related development, the Uzbekistan national team, which had a tremendous debut in 2024, taking home the title in Division IV, will participate in Group B of Division III next season. They will face off against North Korea, Hong Kong, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Luxembourg, the latter having been relegated from Group A of Division III. Uzbekistan is also being considered as a potential host for this group’s tournament, contingent upon the submission of an official bid.
The Kyrgyzstan national team, victorious in Group A of Division III, will ascend to Group B of Division II in the upcoming season. Their opponents have been pre-determined and will include Bulgaria, Chinese Taipei, Iceland, and New Zealand. The final composition of this group will be revealed following the completion of matches in Group A of Division II.
At the elite level, the Kazakhstan national team is poised to compete in the top division, which begins on May 9th.
