Understanding the Expedition Task Order: A Guide on How and Where to Learn
The Ministry of National Defense has established procedures for the allocation and notification of reserve personnel within the legal age limit. Through computer software, the Ministry determines the need for personnel in various classes, branches, specialties, and the Turkish Armed Forces. Once chosen, the reserve personnel are informed about their expedition duty orders, which are sent electronically to force commanders and then to union commandership numbers for mobilization.
Expedition duty order notifications are communicated through e-government, SMS, and email to the selected reserve personnel. Those who receive the notification must then report to the Nearest Military Branch Presidency to complete the notification process. A copy of the duty order is provided to the individuals upon their application, and if the duty order is canceled, it must be returned to the Military Branch Presidency.
In the event that someone needs to be removed from the expedition duty order, various circumstances warrant such action. These include death, postponement, being unfit for military service, or facing criminal charges with potential imprisonment. Additionally, those who have multiple citizenships or are above the legal age limit are also exempt from expedition duty orders.
For individuals living abroad, the duty order can be canceled through the consulates if they provide continuous residence certificates. However, in urgent situations, these individuals may still be given a duty order and be called upon for mobilization exercises or individual mobilization trainings.
