UNICEF partners with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for new initiative Orient
UNICEF and the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov have announced a new partnership to enhance the well-being and rights of children in Turkmenistan. This collaboration, unveiled during the international conference “The Year of Peace and Trust: International Cooperation in the Name of Children,” marks a significant milestone in the efforts to improve healthcare, education, child protection, and social inclusion in the country.
The Charitable Foundation, established in 2021, has been dedicated to providing medical treatment and assistance to children in need of guardianship nationwide. UNICEF’s partnership with the Foundation on its 4th anniversary signifies a commitment to supporting the most vulnerable children in Turkmenistan.
In addition to the collaboration with the Charitable Foundation, UNICEF has also signed work plans for 2025 with the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Office of the Ombudsman, and Memoranda of Understanding with the Ministry of Education and the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan.
The international conference served as a platform for global experts, policymakers, and partners to share insights and best practices on promoting the rights and well-being of children. UNICEF reiterated its dedication to working with the Government of Turkmenistan, ministries, and the Charitable Foundation to create a future where every child is protected, educated, and empowered.
