Hit-and-Run Accident Leaves Two Cyclists Injured on Nicosia-Kyrenia Main Road
In a tragic accident this morning on the Nicosia-Kyrenia main road, an unknown driver struck two cyclists, leaving them injured. The driver of the vehicle is currently being sought by authorities.
According to a statement from the Police Press Officer’s Office, the incident occurred between the 2nd and 3rd kilometers of the Nicosia-Kyrenia main road. The vehicle, with an unknown license plate, was traveling south between 06.30-06.50 when it collided with Berkal Volkan (E-36) and Nurettin Ulvi (E-46), who were riding their bicycles in the same direction. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after hitting the cyclists and fled the scene without providing any personal information.
The injured cyclists, Berkal Volkan and Nurettin Ulvi, were promptly taken to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for medical treatment. Their current condition is being closely monitored as their treatment continues.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to identify the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run accident.
