Tragic Incident: Young Girl Dies After Dental Procedure Gone Wrong
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young girl named Toprak Önkol lost her life after a dental procedure went terribly wrong. Toprak started bleeding at home, prompting her family to rush her to Dağkapı Pediatric Hospital for treatment. Despite the bleeding initially stopping, Toprak was advised to undergo an X-ray at Oral and Dental Diseases Hospital Bağlar District Polyclinic.
Shockingly, despite warnings from her father, a dentist at the clinic proceeded to pull Toprak’s teeth during the X-ray. This decision led to uncontrollable bleeding, and Toprak was transferred to multiple hospitals in an attempt to save her life. Tragically, despite the efforts of medical professionals, Toprak Önkol passed away at the Obstetrics and Pediatric Hospital.
Her grieving father, Adem Önkol, expressed his outrage and stated, “I am a plaintiff and complainant of everyone who was defective in my daughter’s death.” An investigation has been launched following the father’s complaint, with the Provincial Health Directorate conducting an administrative inquiry.
