Urgent News Alert: Devastating Earthquake Hits Istanbul and Nearby Regions!

A series of earthquakes hit Istanbul, causing panic and chaos among residents. The first earthquake, measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale, struck off the coast of the Silivri district. This was followed by a much stronger earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 at 12:49 hours, which was felt in many districts of the Marmara region.
As a result of the earthquakes, communication networks have been severely disrupted, making it difficult for citizens to reach their loved ones. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has advised the use of SMS for communication in order to alleviate the strain on operators.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been briefed on the situation and is closely monitoring the developments. He has been in contact with the Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Environment, Urbanism and Climate Murat Kuram, and Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu to coordinate response efforts.
Residents are urged to stay vigilant and follow the guidance of authorities during this challenging time. Our news will continue to provide updates on the situation in Istanbul following the earthquakes.
