US Announces Destruction of Houthi Anti-Ship Missile

US Launches Air Attack on Houthi Anti-Ship Missile
In a recent statement made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) X on social media, it was revealed that the US forces had launched an air attack on a Houthi anti-ship missile in order to prevent attacks on ships and protect freedom of navigation.
The statement detailed that the missile, which was determined to pose a threat to US ships in the region, was successfully shot down and destroyed during the morning attack. The action was taken in order to ensure the safety of international waters.
The situation in the Red Sea has become increasingly tense, with the Houthi forces in Yemen seizing commercial ships off the coast and launching attacks on them with drones and missiles. As a result, many shipping companies decided to halt their voyages in the region.
In response to the Houthi actions, the US announced the formation of a multinational “maritime task force” called “Operation Welfare Guardian” to address the threats posed by the Houthi forces. The task force, which includes the participation of several countries, aims to safeguard global maritime trade security.
The United Nations Security Council also adopted a resolution on January 11, demanding an immediate end to the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, further highlighting the international concern over the situation.
With approximately 12 percent of global trade passing through the Suez Canal, which connects the Mediterranean to the Red Sea, the need to ensure the safety and security of navigation in the region has become a top priority for the international community. The US air attack on the Houthi anti-ship missile represents a decisive action in response to the escalating tensions in the area.
