US offers reward for capturing drug trafficker

Swedish national, Maximilian Rivkin, has been targeted by the US Department of State in a new initiative to crack down on international organised crime. The State Department is offering a reward of up to $5m for any information leading to Rivkin’s arrest or conviction for his involvement in such crime. Rivkin is reportedly the administrator of an encrypted communications service used by criminals around the world. In correspondence via the platform, Rivkin appears to have been  ‘involved in drug trafficking, money laundering, murder conspiracy and other violent acts’. The move is part of a joint programme with the Swedish Police Agency, which has already accused Rivkin of drug trafficking. The US federal grand jury has also charged the Swedish citizen with “international blackmail conspiracy” which includes drug trafficking and money laundering. Anyone with information about Rivkin has been asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
