US to Implement a Multifaceted Response to Base Attack

US Secretary of State Blinken responds to the attack in which 3 American soldiers died
US Secretary of State Blinken, in a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Washington, addressed the recent attack in which 3 American soldiers lost their lives. Blinken expressed his condolences for the fallen soldiers and assured the public that all precautions are being taken to prevent such attacks from occurring in the future.
Blinken also stated that the Joe Biden administration is actively evaluating military response options and that the response to the attack will be multi-layered, occurring in stages and over a long period of time. However, he clarified that the US is not seeking war with Iran and emphasized the need to protect US interests in the Middle East.
President Joe Biden also commented on the attack, revealing that the drone strike on US forces stationed near the Syrian border resulted in the deaths of 3 soldiers and injuries to many others. Biden attributed the attack to Iran-backed radical militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq, and he pledged that the responsible parties will be held accountable in a time and manner chosen by the United States.
The Pentagon confirmed the death of 3 US soldiers and reported that over 40 soldiers were injured in the attack. The US government is continuing to gather information about the incident as they deliberate on an appropriate response.
