US Trade Representative Katherine Tai to visit Uzbekistan for trade talks
US Trade Representative Katherine Tai is set to visit Uzbekistan on June 11-12 to meet with top officials in the country. During her visit, Tai will have discussions with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President’s First Assistant Saida Mirziyoyeva.
In addition to these meetings, Tai will also hold discussions with Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, and Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Behzod Musayev.
Following her meetings in Tashkent, Tai will travel to Samarkand on June 12 to meet with the Samarkand regional governor, Erkin Turdimov. She will also take the opportunity to visit cultural monuments and major historical sites in the city.
On June 13, Ambassador Katherine Tai will continue her journey to Astana, where she will chair a meeting of the US-Central Asia Trade and Investment Agreement Council. This meeting will include officials from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
