USA Completes Construction of Gaza Coast Pier

Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh Provides Updates on Gaza Situation
During the daily press conference, Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh shared the latest developments regarding the situation in Gaza. Singh announced that the temporary port set to be established in Gaza has been completed, but the military marine vessels that will transport aid to the region are currently waiting at Israel’s Ashdod Port due to adverse weather conditions.
The temporary port, expected to be operational by the end of the week, will initially serve with 8 trucks. Once fully operational, it will be able to accommodate up to 150 aid trucks. Singh explained that humanitarian aid from the USA and other countries will be transported to Gaza from the port in Southern Cyprus through a transport ship named The Sagamora.
While acknowledging the importance of delivering aid by land, Singh emphasized that land crossings need to be opened to ensure a continuous flow of aid to Gaza. She expressed concern over the dire humanitarian situation in the region and underscored the urgency of addressing it.
In response to Israel’s recent ground attack on the Rafah region of Gaza, Singh stated that the US does not support large-scale interventions in areas hosting a significant number of refugees. She expressed concern over the situation and urged for a peaceful resolution.
Regarding Israel’s justification for the ground attack in Rafah as a measure to prevent arms smuggling by Hamas, Singh refrained from discussing intelligence matters but emphasized the need for a thorough assessment of the situation.
As discussions continue with Israeli counterparts, Singh emphasized the need for ongoing monitoring of events in Rafah. She noted that the situation is evolving rapidly, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
Additionally, Hamas has reportedly agreed to ceasefire proposals put forth by Qatar and Egypt. Despite this development, Israel’s War Cabinet has decided to continue its offensive in Rafah. The Israeli army has called for the evacuation of certain neighborhoods in the region and announced its control over the border gate with Egypt following the ground attack.
The situation in Gaza remains fluid, with multiple stakeholders working towards a resolution that prioritizes the well-being of civilians in the region. As efforts continue to deliver humanitarian aid and facilitate dialogue, the international community closely monitors the developments in Gaza.
