Üstel Breaks Down in Tears During Victory Speech: “TRNC and UBP Reign Supreme”

The Chairman of the National Unity Party (UBP), Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, has been re-elected as the Chairman of the UBP at the 23rd Ordinary General Assembly of the party. After the results were announced, Üstel expressed her gratitude and emotions as she accepted congratulations and delivered her thank you speech.

Üstel highlighted the importance of the democracy race that concluded after village, neighborhood, and district congresses lasting approximately two and a half months. She commended all UBP members for their participation in the festive atmosphere of the congress, emphasizing that the UBP is the largest party in the TRNC.

Stating that the UBP has emerged stronger from the congress, Üstel emphasized that there are no winners or losers, but rather the TRNC and the UBP emerge victorious. She acknowledged the fulfillment of promises made by the party in previous terms and the implementation of unfinished projects, as well as the inclusivity of all segments of society.

Looking towards the future, Üstel expressed determination to address the challenges ahead and continue serving the people with stability until 2027. She extended her gratitude to the other candidates at the Congress for their participation and support.

Meanwhile, the counting of votes for the Party Assembly, high disciplinary board, and auditing board will commence at 15:00 at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Sports Hall. The convention also saw votes cast for the 70-person party assembly, with 122 candidates vying for positions within the assembly.

The UBP continues to strengthen its position and unity as it moves forward, focused on the well-being and progress of the TRNC and its people.
