Prime Minister Ünal Üsel Addresses Disciplinary Regulations and Social Media Attacks
In a recent statement to the Republican Assembly, Prime Minister Ünal Üsel addressed the disciplinary regulations and social media attacks against the Turkish Cypriot people. He emphasized the need for the Turkish Cypriot people to report any oral attacks they face on social media to the police.
Since assuming office, Prime Minister Üsel has been advocating for reconciliation and has made efforts to bring about positive change, including amendments to the disciplinary regulations. He expressed his disappointment at the insults directed towards the Turkish Cypriot people and reiterated his commitment to protecting his people.
Prime Minister Üsel also mentioned the removal of a personnel from the Department of Religious Affairs due to inappropriate remarks made by the individual. He further discussed the challenges faced by businessmen in Dubai and Moscow, highlighting the need for clearer information on the matter.
Reflecting on the history of the Turkish Cypriot people, Prime Minister Üsel emphasized their resilience and perseverance in the face of embargoes and isolation. He also touched upon the longstanding discussions on the federation model, stating that it is time to consider a solution based on two equal sovereign states.
In his address, Prime Minister Üsel thanked the Republic of Türkiye for their support in advancing the country towards a more contemporary position. He also criticized Southern Cyprus for attempting to hinder the economic progress in the country and highlighted the efforts of the immovable property commission in addressing related issues.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Üsel condemned the legal regulations imposed by Southern Cyprus to intimidate the Turkish Cypriot community, business people, and tourists. He reassured that despite the challenges, the economy of the country continues to thrive and grow.
Lastly, Prime Minister Üsel expressed gratitude for the strong support received from Azerbaijan at the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya and pledged to continue working tirelessly for the benefit of the country on all platforms.
