Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Presents Credentials to Emir of Kuwait
Uzbekistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Kuwait, Ayubkhon Yunusov, recently presented his credentials to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in a formal ceremony on October 7th.
During the ceremony, the two officials engaged in a brief conversation, where Sheikh Mishal fondly recalled his meeting with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in July 2023. The meeting took place during the first summit of the Strategic Dialogue between the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and Central Asia in Jeddah.
Furthermore, the Emir was officially invited to visit Uzbekistan for the second summit of the Strategic Dialogue, which is scheduled for 2025 in the historic city of Samarkand.
Ambassador Yunusov, who assumed his role in Kuwait on February 6, 2024, previously held the position of the head of the Consular-Legal Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan before being appointed as the Ambassador to Kuwait.
The presentation of credentials marks an important step in strengthening the diplomatic ties between Uzbekistan and Kuwait, as both countries continue to work towards enhancing cooperation in various fields.
