Bishkek – 24.kg news agency

Two leaders of the Uzbek and Tajik diasporas were arrested in Russia for their involvement in organizing illegal migration activities and issuing fraudulent certificates of knowledge of the Russian language. According to Podrobno.uz, the chairman of the Uzbek national center and the deputy chairman of the Tajik diaspora, along with the center for additional education, were found to be issuing certificates of proficiency in the Russian language, knowledge of history, and the basics of Russian legislation in exchange for money.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Irkutsk Oblast stated that the offenders were charging individuals approximately 8,000 rubles for a certificate confirming their knowledge of the Russian language, resulting in a total of more than 1.5 million rubles in illicit earnings. Following investigations, authorities conducted searches in the defendants’ offices and homes, seizing computers, flash drives, 1.7 million rubles in cash, bank cards, blank cartridges, and various documents as material evidence.

This incident sheds light on the illegal activities of certain diaspora leaders and their exploitation of individuals seeking to obtain official documents. Authorities are working towards holding accountable those involved in such fraudulent schemes and maintaining the integrity of certification processes.
