Uzbekistan and Afghanistan Collaborate on the Construction of Imam al-Bukhari Madrasa
Uzbekistan and Afghanistan recently engaged in discussions regarding the construction of a madrasa named after Imam al-Bukhari in the Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif. The talks were conducted via videoconference, with the support of the Embassy of Afghanistan, and involved officials from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Construction and Housing Services as well as Afghanistan’s Ministry of Urban Development.
The Afghan delegation expressed their appreciation to Uzbekistan’s leadership for the continuous support and assistance extended to Afghanistan. Representatives from the Balkh provincial administration, the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and regional urban planning authorities also joined the conversation.
Throughout the meeting, both sides shared their perspectives on the practical aspects of their future collaboration, with a specific focus on the construction of the Imam al-Bukhari Madrasa. This project is regarded as a significant endeavor to strengthen the bonds between the two nations, which share common linguistic, cultural, and spiritual roots.
The Afghan officials highlighted that the madrasa, to be constructed with Uzbekistan’s aid, will play a vital role in bringing the two countries closer together by safeguarding and promoting their shared traditions and values. This collaboration is set to not only enhance educational opportunities but also foster greater understanding and friendship between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
