Uzbekistan Experiences Boom in Mobile Phone Imports with China as Top Provider
Uzbekistan’s Mobile Phone Imports Reach 2.2 Million Units in 2024
Preliminary data released by the Statistics Agency reveals that Uzbekistan has imported a whopping 2.2 million mobile phones between January and July 2024, amounting to a total value of $200.9 million. This significant influx of mobile devices showcases the increasing demand for connectivity in the country.
China maintains its position as the leading supplier of mobile phones to Uzbekistan, with a whopping 1.7 million units imported during the specified period. This dominance underscores China’s strong presence in the Uzbek mobile phone market. Following closely behind is Vietnam, which exported 339,400 units, and India, which contributed 59,400 units. Other noteworthy suppliers include Hong Kong, with 19,800 units, and the UAE, shipping 3,300 units.
