Arnest Packaging Solutions to Invest $100 Million in Aluminum Can Manufacturing Plant in Uzbekistan
A major investment project is on the horizon for Uzbekistan as Arnest Packaging Solutions, a former Russian subsidiary of the American company Ball Corp, has announced plans to build an aluminum can manufacturing plant in the Navoi Special Industrial Park. The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIPT) revealed this exciting news, highlighting the estimated investment of $100 million from the Russian side.
The proposed factory aims to start operations by autumn 2025 and is expected to create over 200 jobs for the local workforce, bolstering the economic development of the region. With an annual production capacity of 1.5 billion cans, the plant will play a key role in enhancing market activities across Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Alexander Isaev, General Director of Arnest Packaging Solutions, emphasized that the establishment of this facility will facilitate the redirection of packaging currently produced in Russia towards the domestic market in Uzbekistan. This move signifies the introduction of new technology for beverage aluminum packaging that was previously unavailable in the country.
Khurram Teshabaev, Deputy Head of MIPT, expressed excitement about the project’s potential impact, stating that over 30% of the production is earmarked for export, showcasing a strong commitment to international markets. The Uzbek government is committed to supporting this initiative by offering tax incentives, subsidies, and a well-developed infrastructure to ensure the success of the project. Teshabaev highlighted that the foreign investor will benefit from a production facility tailored to meet the specific requirements of the project.
This investment marks a significant milestone in Uzbekistan’s manufacturing sector, positioning the country as a key player in the regional market for aluminum packaging. The construction of the aluminum can manufacturing plant represents a crucial step forward in the country’s efforts to expand its industrial capabilities and boost economic growth.
