Uzbekistan Futsal Team Drops in FIFA Rankings After 2024 World Cup Performance
Following their performance at the 2024 Futsal World Cup, Uzbekistan’s national futsal team has fallen 10 positions in the latest FIFA rankings. Led by head coach José Venancio López, the team dropped from 11th to 21st place, marking the largest decline among the top 30 teams.
Despite this significant drop, Uzbekistan still holds the 4th spot in Asia, trailing behind Iran (6th), Thailand (11th), and Japan (13th). Globally, Brazil takes the top spot in the rankings after securing the championship, with Portugal and Argentina following closely behind. Spain slipped to 4th place, while Kazakhstan climbed three spots to break into the top five.
The latest FIFA futsal rankings for October reveal the following standings:

2. Portugal
3. Argentina
4. Spain
5. Kazakhstan
6. Iran

During the 2024 World Cup, Uzbekistan’s futsal team faced tough competition, drawing with the Netherlands in Group A but suffering defeats against Paraguay and Costa Rica. These results ultimately led to Uzbekistan finishing last in their group, contributing to their steep fall in the rankings. Despite this setback, the team will look to regroup and improve in future competitions.
