President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Leads Meeting on Development of Electrical, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries in Uzbekistan
On December 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting to discuss the development of the electrical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, existing shortcomings in these three spheres were critically analyzed and urgent tasks were identified.
President Mirziyoyev highlighted the need for regional administrations to work closely with manufacturing enterprises, diversify their economies, and increase the number of projects to be implemented. This, he stated, will lead to economic growth, job creation, and increased budget revenues.
In the coming year, Uzbekistan plans to begin the implementation of 24 large projects worth $12.7 billion in the electrical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. These projects include expanding the production capacity of polyvinyl chloride at Navoiazot and soda ash in Kungrad, producing olefin from methanol in Karakul, and producing metal sheets for household appliances and cars in Samarkand.
During the meeting, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of involving local enterprises in the supply of construction materials and equipment necessary for the implementation of these projects.
The meeting signals the government’s commitment to the growth and development of the electrical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries in Uzbekistan, and its recognition of the potential for economic advancement and job creation in these sectors.
