Uzbekneftegaz Doubles Gasoline Supply Despite Filling Station Restrictions

Uzbekneftegaz Increases Gasoline Supply, Reduces Diesel Prices

Uzbekneftegaz, the state-owned oil and gas company in Uzbekistan, has announced significant developments in its operations to meet the country’s demand for gasoline and diesel fuel. According to the company’s press service, in December, Uzbekneftegaz doubled its gasoline supply amid restrictions on the operation of automobile gas filling compressor stations.

One of the key highlights is the increase in gasoline reserves nearly fourfold, with the company assuring that there are “sufficient reserves in the necessary volume” to provide the population with gasoline and diesel. This move comes as a response to the rising demand for fuel in the country.

Last month, the daily volume of gasoline AI-80 offered at exchange auctions also saw a significant increase. Compared to November, where 1800-2000 tons of gasoline were offered daily, in December, from the 11th to the 18th, the daily volume reached 8000 tons of fuel. In total, 130.4 thousand tons of gasoline were offered at the exchange, of which 94.7 thousand tons were AI-80 gasoline.

Furthermore, Uzbekneftegaz announced a 15% reduction in diesel prices starting from February 19, 2024. This reduction will be achieved through the compounding of synthetic diesel components at the Bukhara Oil Refinery, along with an increase in production capacity for diesel fuel. The company aims to make diesel fuel more accessible to consumers by selling it in small lots at exchange auctions.

The company emphasized that there were no disruptions in diesel supply last year, and the issue of meeting the population’s demand for gasoline and diesel fuel is under daily control by the leadership of Uzbekneftegaz and industry enterprises. All available resources have been mobilized to ensure a steady supply of fuel to consumers, including agricultural enterprises.

With these developments, Uzbekneftegaz is taking proactive measures to stabilize the fuel market in Uzbekistan and address the growing demands of its population.
