Van Castle Given a New Appearance with Illumination Project
The historical Van Castle, a significant structure on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, has been given a new look with the completion of an illumination project. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Van Governorship, and Metropolitan Municipality have collaborated to initiate this project, aiming to enhance the beauty and historical significance of the castle.
Governor and Deputy Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ozan Balcı expressed his satisfaction with the completion of the project. He highlighted the importance of illuminating the surroundings of the Van Castle, which dates back to the Urartians, and emphasized the collaborative effort between various government entities.
Balcı also emphasized the positive impact of this project on the city’s tourism, stating that it will contribute to the revitalization of the Old City of Van, as well as the upcoming launch of the Van Coastal Road and Coastal Park. He believes that these projects will significantly benefit the culture, tourism, and economy of Van.
“I think it will make a very important contribution,” said Balcı, “The historical Van Castle was illuminated in accordance with its magnificence, originality, and grandeur. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed.”
With the completion of the illumination project, the Van Castle is expected to attract more visitors and further solidify its position as a key historical and cultural site in the region. The efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Van Governorship, and Metropolitan Municipality have been instrumental in preserving and promoting the historical significance of the castle for future generations.
