Visit by Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Emperor Naruhito to the Imperial Palace
Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov were treated to a display of Kyrgyz national equestrian games at the hippodrome in the village of Baktuu-Dolonotuu in the Issyk-Kul region on April 23.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by akyns-improvisers at the entrance to the hippodrome, where they were then taken on a tour of the ethno-complex “Kyrgyz Aiyly”. Here, they were able to witness firsthand elements of the Kyrgyz traditional way of life, including yurts, folk crafts, national cuisine, and costumes.
Additionally, various horse competitions, as well as demonstrations of hunting with birds of prey and taigans (Kyrgyz greyhounds) were showcased as part of the traditional hunting art “Salbuurun” at the hippodrome.
The cultural program concluded with President Sadyr Japarov escorting Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Issyk-Kul International Airport. The press service of the Kyrgyz head of state reported this event.
