Visitors Welcome to the 100th Anniversary Republic Education Exhibition
Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History, recently organized an exhibition that marked the first event of the university’s activities in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic. Professor Dr. Nuri Güçtekin, a prominent figure in the department, expressed his excitement about the exhibition, which showcased various items related to the history of education in Turkey.
Güçtekin highlighted that this exhibition is only one of many events that will take place throughout the country as part of the anniversary celebrations. The preparations for the exhibition began in June, and it featured around 175 photographs, permits, diplomas, and other materials. These items were carefully chosen from a collection of almost 100,000 photographs, sourced from the libraries of the Ministry and central organizations.
“We have put together a comprehensive project to introduce our youth and new generation to the significant role of education throughout history,” stated Güçtekin. The exhibition aimed to display the evolution of education from the past to the present, allowing visitors to explore its transformative nature.
The interest in the exhibition surpassed the expectations of the organizers, extending beyond the university community. Teachers and students from schools in Istanbul showed great enthusiasm in attending the exhibition, further emphasizing the importance of education in society.
As the country nears the 100th anniversary of the Republic, events like this exhibition serve as a reminder of the progress made in various fields, including education.
