We Are Not Responsible for the Pager Explosion
The US State Department and White House have both responded to the recent detonation of pagers used by Hezbollah elements in Lebanon. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the US had no prior knowledge or involvement in the incident and is currently gathering information. When asked about Hezbollah’s accusation that Israel was responsible, Miller emphasized the need for more information before making any assessments.
On the other hand, Miller defended the attack on Hezbollah as “legitimate” due to the organization being classified as a terrorist group by the United States. He stated that Israel has the right to defend itself against Hezbollah militants who carry out terrorist attacks.
White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre also confirmed that the US had no involvement in the attacks and expressed a desire for tensions between Israel and Hezbollah to de-escalate through diplomatic means.
The explosions in pagers used by Hezbollah resulted in nine deaths and around 2,800 injuries, sparking concerns of escalating tensions in the region. Israel has not yet commented on the issue, and the situation remains tense along the Israel-Lebanon border.
As the US continues to monitor the situation and gather information, the focus remains on finding a diplomatic solution to prevent further violence and conflict in the region.
