White House Receives Over Ten ‘Amazing’ Offers on Customs Duties from Other Countries
The United States Receives More Than Ten “Very Good” Tariff Deals from Foreign Countries
According to White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett, the United States has already received over ten “very good” tariff deals from foreign countries. This news comes amidst ongoing trade negotiations and discussions between the US and various nations around the world.
Hassett expressed his optimism about the offers that the US has received, describing them as “very, very good, amazing.” He highlighted the efforts of US Trade Representative Jameson Greer, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and the rest of the trade team in evaluating these offers to ensure they benefit the United States.
This development comes after President Trump announced the imposition of customs duties on products from 185 countries and territories. Notably, Russia is not included in this list. The US implemented universal tariffs of 10% on April 5, followed by individual tariffs on April 9. In addition, customs duties of 25% were imposed on all imported cars starting April 3. Furthermore, President Trump declared a state of emergency in response to the economic situation in the country.
As the US continues to navigate its trade relationships with various countries, the receipt of “very good” tariff deals signals a positive step towards achieving mutually beneficial trade agreements. The negotiations and evaluations conducted by the US trade team will be crucial in determining the next steps in the country’s trade policies.
