Spanish National Police Arrest Venezuelan Citizen Accused of Money Laundering
In a recent statement, the Spanish National Police reported the arrest of a Venezuelan citizen at his home in Alicante. The arrest was made as part of an operation that had been ongoing for approximately two years.
The individual in question has been accused of being a member of a criminal organization involved in money laundering and revealing secrets. Following the arrest, the individual was sent to prison for detention by the Alicante Court.
According to the police statement, the criminal group was actively carrying out attacks on official institutions in various countries, including the USA, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Japan, and Spain. It was also revealed that the group was exchanging the illegally obtained money with cryptocurrency, and the money laundering operations were being carried out through the person arrested in Alicante.
The police also disclosed that the group, known as Kevin Security, has been involved in more than 300 attacks in over 90 countries. The criminal organization, which first emerged in 2013, was reported to have conducted its most recent attack in November 2023, targeting the headquarters of a multinational energy company with over 85 thousand customers.
Kevin Security is considered to be one of the most active hacker groups in the world, and its illegal activities have generated significant profits from the sale of stolen information.
The Spanish National Police will continue to investigate the activities of Kevin Security and is working to prevent further attacks by the criminal group.
