WWII Veterans to Receive Financial Support from President’s Fund

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has recently signed a decree to provide one-time financial assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as reported by the press service of the head of state. This decision was made in honor of the world-historical significance of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, and in celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Victory.

Currently, as of April 1, 2024, there are at least 41 veterans living in Kyrgyzstan. In accordance with the decree, 4,141 million soms from the President’s Fund will be allocated to provide one-time financial assistance in the amount of 100,000 soms to specified categories of WWII veterans. This assistance will be granted to disabled Great Patriotic War veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War, persons who were minor prisoners in concentration camps, ghettos, and other places of forced detention created by the Nazis and their allies during World War II, as well as individuals who worked in Leningrad during the siege from September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944, and were awarded the medal “For the Defense of Leningrad” or the badge “Resident of besieged Leningrad.”

This initiative aims to show appreciation and support for the sacrifices and contributions made by these veterans during a crucial period in history.
