The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Turkey Hosts Briefing Event in Istanbul
The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey recently organized a briefing event in Istanbul to highlight Turkmenistan’s initiatives for the proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality.
The event was well-attended by various individuals, including the heads of the leading Turkish university Bahcesehir, members of the “Turkic World” club of Istanbul universities, Turkmen and foreign students from countries such as Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, as well as local media correspondents.
During the event, Consul General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul, Muhammetnur Ovezov, emphasized the importance of the high-level international events planned for 2025 in honor of Turkmenistan’s neutrality anniversary. He also shared information on the global initiatives proposed by Turkmenistan for the International Year of Peace and Trust, and introduced the participants to the Concept of the country’s activities for the current year.
The significance of 2025 was highlighted during the briefing, as it not only marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality but also the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, adding special meaning to the international and state events scheduled for this period.
A key moment of the event was the presentation of the new book by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov titled “Hakyda Göwheri” (“Pearl of Memory”).
The briefing in Istanbul served as an important platform to promote the principles of peace and trust, and to familiarize the international community with key aspects of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy in this anniversary year.
