Young Ambassadors for Peace: Water Diplomacy in Turkmenistan Orient

Water diplomacy and sustainable development in Central Asia are key priorities for Turkmenistan, as highlighted in a recent article by ORIENT. The country has been actively promoting initiatives related to water resources at major international forums, including the United Nations General Assembly.
One such initiative is the “Young Messengers of Peace” competition, organized for high school students as part of the School of Young Diplomats at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The fourth season of the competition, themed “Peacekeeping diplomacy of neutral Turkmenistan: a reliable instrument of effective cooperation and sustainable development”, will include a qualifying game focused on “Water diplomacy of Turkmenistan: a drop of water is a grain of gold, the meaning of respect of a neighbor for a neighbor”.
The 7th qualifying game of the IV season is set to take place on March 26, 2025, providing young participants with an opportunity to engage with important issues related to water resources and diplomacy.
Overall, Turkmenistan’s efforts to involve young people in discussions around water diplomacy and sustainable development demonstrate a commitment to addressing crucial challenges facing the region. Stay tuned for updates on the competition and its impact on promoting peace and cooperation in Central Asia.
