The Youth Department Directorate of the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment is launching swimming courses with the slogan “No One Who Can Swim”. These courses are aimed at teaching children essential swimming skills and promoting water safety.
Scheduled to begin on March 13, the swimming training will be conducted by experienced swimming instructors and assistants from various associations and clubs affiliated with the Water Sports Federation. The courses will take place at the Atatürk Indoor Swimming Pool and will cater to children aged 9-10, lasting for a duration of four months.
Youth Department Director, Hakan Özsaygın, emphasized the importance of learning to swim, especially for a country surrounded by water like Cyprus. He expressed his gratitude to the Development and Economic Cooperation Office (BSEC) of the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia for their support in making this project a reality.
Furthermore, Özsaygın extended his thanks to Youth Department Project Officer Nevin Çerkez, Water Sports Federation President Ender Yeşilyurt, as well as all the instructors and assistants involved in the program. He wished for the courses to not only be educational but also fun and enjoyable for the participating children.
These swimming courses are a fantastic opportunity for young individuals to acquire a life-saving skill while having a great time in the water. It is a commendable initiative by the Youth Department to promote water safety and encourage swimming among the youth population.
